I am a self-taught fine art photographer that has been creating beautiful natural light images for nearly two decades. Although I have always been fascinated with the visual art of outdoor landscape photography it took many years of trial and error to achieve the quality I sought. I began as aa film photographer but have gradually come to embrace the digital age bringing my skills and experience from the "film days" with me. One of the advantages I saw early on was the ability to print my own work outside of a darkroom, thus avoiding the noxious chemicals that come along with it. It also opened the way to use fine art paper in the print process rather than traditional photographic paper.

My photographs combine two of my passions - a love of travel and a love of the outdoors. Thus, my photographs are produced using available natural light. Over the years I have developed an eye for composition, lighting and tonalities which translates into the finished images seen here. In fact, working among the St. Louis art community, some local painters have acknowledged that my works inspire them as well. The challenges of photographing Europe require patience and flexibility but it is quite rewarding. Likewise photographing nature, particularly my home state of Missouri, presents its own unique set of challenges.

I print my own photographs digitally using a large Epson printer (up to 16x20 size) but can also produce custom orders in larger sizes using an outside printer. Each piece is printed, inspected and signed by me personally. By using archival materials my prints should last for decades and beyond when cared for properly. I take pride in my work and find joy and satisfaction when it creates the same in others.
